An outstanding 1975 Electra Tree of Life Guitar with Oak Leaves. A very rare pre-Lawsuit Electra with the "Open Book" iconic Gibson style headstock and a Gibson-esque diagonal Electra logo. The guitar is an obvious, but very high quality knock-off of the SG body design. None-the-less an eye-catching piece of art.
This 2247 is an early version Electra that featured a bolt-on neck (later models adopted a neck-thru design). The headstock and neck are both expertly bound. Every screw on this Electra is original, exceptional quality Electra branded tuners, fully adjustable bridge with Les Paul-style stop tail piece, black speed knobs, and a B/W/B pickguard.
The two original humbucking pickups (a chrome-covered one in the neck and an uncovered black one in the bridge) have megatons of bite and fierce growl to them, making this a fantastic guitar for classic rock or metal.
The artistic flare of this guitar is obviously the intricately embossed leaf and vine motif on the solid mahogany body. The maple fretboard is inset with gorgeous (and genuine) abalone vines. Cosmetically this 40+ year old 2247 is in exceptional shape.
These are instruments of outstanding quality and playability.
Vintage Guitar Buying Tips . . .
What is a Magnaflux Pickup?
The magnaflux is an exceptionally 'hot' twin, double coil, humbucking pickup.
These pickups are designed to achieve richer harmonics and greater sustain. The lead pickup is exposed directly to the strings for a noticeably better treble bite and sharper clarity.
Tailpiece and Adjustable Bridge.
The hard tail tailpiece is imbedded directly into the guitar body. This produces much more sustain then other mounting methods.
The adjustable bridge can be moved up or down and adjusted forward or backward, for each string individually, to achieve perfect intonation and playing ease.
