How
Does Crystal Gazing Works?
While the Natural Quartz Crystal Ball is
generally held as the epitome of the "portal" into mystical
insights, just about any highly polished material, even a pool of still
water, will work just as effectively.
The Gazer will intently focus their gaze on the polished crystal sphere
and quiet their mind. After a few minutes the optic nerve becomes
very fatigued and ceases to transmit the actual external image to the
brain. At this point the reflex actions of the brain take over and
start to transmit impressions from within, obviously creating the
impression that the images are from beyond normal reality. Are
these really insights from realms beyond our comprehension? Who
knows? But I'm reasonably convinced that if certain individuals
exhibit extrasensory abilities, at some point in the future science will
discover how they do it, and then they'll tell the rest of us,
right?
Still this seems to be a very good method
for meditation and quieting the mind (even if you don't
"receive" the winning numbers for the Super Lotto).

The Alexandrite Laser Sphere
The Prize Piece of the Time-Warp
Museum's collection is the beautiful "Alexandrite Laser Sphere." this softly
glowing orb was hand crafted by the late "Harold of Kansas," a
grand master of the art of sphere cutting. Many painstaking hours
of cutting, grinding and polishing went into the creation of this piece.

The three point stand is of cast brass, with the figures of African elephants
holding the sphere with their trunks.

A
Beautiful 2.5" Natural Quartz Sphere
(the
Mystic's Choice)
Natural quartz spheres have been used for centuries by "Crystal
Gazers" to (allegedly) foretell events to come. The
fate of empires often hung in the balance while great leaders, from the
times of the Greek and Roman Empires, to leaders of prominence in
modern times, sought the secrets of the future.

"Merlin's Crystal"
This beautiful and mysterious crystal ball has been cut and polished in
pure lead crystal. The highly ornate stand is crafted in black
marble, cast pewter and 22K gold leaf, with created ruby accents.
Much like natural quartz crystal, the high clarity of lead crystal imbues it
with properties of light and energy that make it a natural choice for the
crystal gazer, fortune teller or seer.
A Collectible from the Franklin Mint.

The
breath taking Time-Warp Museum collection consists of a variety of hand
cut and polished crystal and gemstone spheres. Depicted here are specimens in
natural clear quartz crystal (the ultimate), turquoise, rose quartz, lead
crystal, and glass.

The Seer's Crystal Ball

A natural quartz sphere made under the time honored tradition of hand
cutting
and polishing.
The Seer's Choice!
The Process:
1.) A suitable crystal is selected.
Usually this is done at the mine to protect the internal integrity of
the crystal as much as possible.
This should be a fairly large crystal as the cutting and polishing
process will cause 75% or more of the crystal to be cut away.
2.) The master sphere maker carefully studies the crystal to
determine the optimal center of the crystal and the area likely to
produce the clearest most beautiful area.
Because a quartz crystal grows naturally for centuries under the earth,
a perfectly clear stone is exceedingly rare and, as one may guess,
exceptionally valuable.
3.) Using a diamond saw (a saw tiped with microscopic diamonds or
diamond dust) the master cutter slices the crystal into the rough shape
similar to an octahedron.
In other words, into a shape that closely resembles a sphere but have
numerous smaller flat surfaces.
4.) The rough cut sphere is then placed between two rotating cups
that are impregnated with sapphire dust (corundum) or diamond dust.
The sphere spins for many days between the revolving cups in a fine
slurry of water and the cutting agent. The master cutter
continually replenishes the cutting dust, a progressively uses finer,
and finer diamond dust.
Over many weeks a beautifully crafted sphere emerges.
