The Story of WD-40

WD-40 (Water Displacement #40)

This truly amazing product began in the 1950's resulting from a search for a rust preventative solvent and de-greaser that would protect Missile parts.

The WD-40 name is derived directly from the project that was to find an effective compound that could literally drive water out of  (water displacement) sensitive guidance components.

In testing the fortieth formulation in a long series of experiments, three technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company finally succeeded in 1953.  WD-40 was born!

Ken East (one of the original founders) says there is nothing in WD-40 that would hurt you...' IT IS MADE FROM FISH OIL'.

Just a few of the amazing uses of WD-40

2) Removes road tar and grime from cars.
3) Cleans and lubricates guitar strings.

39) Protects the Statue of Liberty from the elements.
40) It attracts fish. Spray a LITTLE on live bait or lures: you will be surprised.
41) Ant bites. It takes the sting away immediately and stops the itch.
42) Remove crayon from walls. Spray on the mark and wipe with a clean rag.

Keep a can of WD-40 in your kitchen cabinet:

If you get a burn from the stove or oven, WD-40 will relieve the pain quickly and the burn heals with little to no scarring.

And remember, the basic ingredient of WD-40 is simple fish oil.

But heed the warnings - it contains petroleum distillates and it is under pressure.

* Bafflegab = a blend of incomprehensibility, ambiguity, verbosity and complexity generally intended to make one (or things) sound bigger, more important, or more complex than they actually are or even need to be.
(Politicians apply bafflegab liberally.)

This wonderful and descriptive phrase . . . Bafflegab (I just love the way that sounds) was actually coined way back in 1952 by Milton Smith in an article he wrote to criticize government bureaucrats.  Isn't it nice to know nothings changes when it comes to politicians?
