A few companies, like Jetchip.com, have released chips that will boost the output of your PT Cruiser's plant. I'm told that the modules do provide extra boost at the low-end of the throttle range but as you get closer to full throttle the improvement is negligible. Still, this just might make your Cruiser a bit "Snappier" off the line. Rough
Idle and hesitation can be a problem if you (or the dealer) substitutes the
wrong Spark plugs. The ONLY plugs you should use are the original
RE14MCC5 or stock #7440 platinum Champions. Don't let the dealer try
to use plugs for a Neon or any other 2000 or newer Chrysler car that uses the 2.4L
engine, they do not all use the same spark plugs. Some
folks say the PT's power plant is pretty "weak" but let's look at a
few facts. The Cruiser actually puts out more horsepower, relative to its
size, then many of the
V6's out there. The PT's 150 HP 148.2 cubic inch engine generates a
bit more than 1horsepower per cubic inch of displacement (cid).
